Turning Pain Into Purpose
Scott Cochran is an eight-time collegiate national champion football coach and an opioid overdose survivor. Known for constantly shouting to motivate athletes, Scott’s energy resulted in splitting headaches. Unfortunately, what began as a prescribed solution for his pain led to an addiction that almost took his life.
Today, Scott is raising his voice once again. This time, to bring attention to an opioid epidemic our state is fighting every day. He is using his relentless energy to advocate for those recovering or struggling with substance use disorder. As the president of the American Addiction Recovery Association, Scott works to ignite awareness and amplify the voices of families and survivors who have been deeply affected by opioid dependency.
